The AMLN's
Legal Program helps the immigrants in New York City to understand
the American legal process and immigration laws in the U.S.
The Legal
Program at the AMLN is primarily a legal referral service to pro bono
or low cost representation. The program provides immigration workshops,
information about permanent legal residency and citizenship eligibility
assistance in immigration applications, immigration consultation with
attorneys and accredited representation, interpretation services,
case management, and referrals.

Legal Program includes but not limited to the following applications:
- Petition for Alien Relative
- Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status
- Biographic Information
- Affidavit of Support
- Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status
- Application for Employment Authorization
- Application for Travel Document
- Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence
Asylum
- " Know Your Rights " workshops
- Furthermore, once month special citizenship exam preparation workshop
will be conducted to help elderly people and/or people with English
language difficulties to get ready for the citizenship examination.
