Rami Nuseir, President & Founder
Rami Nuseir,
President & Founder

Rami Nuseir received an Undergraduate Degree in Law from the University of Herefordshire,England, a Masters in International Comparative Law from the University of San Diego, and most recently a Masters in Intellectual Property from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law in New York City.

His professional career has included a wide array of non and for profit work. He was a Banking Litigation Attorney in Haifa, an Adjunct Contract and Constitutional Law Professor at the Baruch College Law and Paralegal Program in New York City, and for the non for profit organization Seeds of Peace, he was the head Arab Outreach coordinator, a key fundraiser, and the liaison between the organization and many of its nation wide chapters. He was working as the head Legal Council for The Arab American Family Support Center, the only such center in all of New York City.

Currently living in New York City, Rami is the President of the American MidEast Leadership Network a not-for-profit organization that aims to empower Arab youth and to bridge professionals, educators and philanthropists from the Middle East and the United States through educational and cultural exchanges, which will inspire the emergence of future leaders in both regions who are equipped with a more thorough understanding of each other's cultural, religious and political lives.


Ghassan Elcheikhali
Ghassan Elcheikhali
Dr. Ghassan K. Elcheikhali was born in Lebanon. He received an Undergraduate Degree in Teaching Methodologies, from College of Nabatieh in Lebanon. His Master Degree in Political Sociology, The Lebanese University, Saida in Lebanon. Most recently Dr. Elcheikhali earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Rockville University in Florida. His professional career has included a wide array of academic work. He was a French Language instructor at Iona College, Yonkers. In Lebanon he was a Sociology professor a Nabatieh Institute of Technology and Social Sciences professor at the Amilieh Technology Institute, Beirut Lebanon. Currently Dr. Elcheickali is the Principle of Razi High School in Queens, NY one the largest Islamic schools in New York and an Arabic Language instructor at St. Jones University in New York. He is the Chief Editor of UMAA Magazine (Universal Muslim Association of America), which promotes moderate Islam and responds to Radical views and misinterpretation of the holy Quran and the traditions of the holy Prophet. Dr. Elcheickali research and published numerous articles in the fields of religion, education and culture such as: Imam Moussa Assadr; The Legend of The Role and The Plot Kidnapping The Implementation of Individual Investment In Agriculture Sector In Lebanon; The Concept of Political Leadership in Nabatieh, region of Southern Lebanon; The Political Authority of ‘Jabal Amal and many others.
Jean Charchaflieh
Jean Charchaflieh, MD

Born in Aleppo, Syria, Dr. Charchaflieh received his M.D. degree from Aleppo University and went on to complete his anesthesiology training at the Loyola University of Chicago Medical Center. Since, he has received a fellowship in critical care medicine from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Center in New York, and a fellowship in neuroanesthesia from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. Recently, he earned and a Master of Public Health degree from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where he is currently Director of the Division of Critical Care, the Anaesthesia Critical Care Fellowship Program at the Department of Anesthesiology,
and the Research Track for the CA-3 year. In addition, he is Assistant Director of the Anesthesiology Residency Program and Chairman of the Clinical Competence Committee.

At institutional level, Dr. Charchaflieh is the Co-director of the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit, the Medical Director of the Respiratory Therapy Service, the Chairperson of the Hospital Sedation and Analgesia Committee, and an active member of the Institutional
Review Board and the ardiopulmonary Resuscitation Committee.

At the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, he is the Director of Continuing Medical Education, an Alternate Delegate for District One of the NYSSA, and an Assistant Editor of the NYSSA newsletter (Sphere). An active member in many committees including the Committee
on Pain Management and Critical Care Medicine, the Continuing Medical Education and Remediation Committee, the Continuous Quality Improvement and Peer Review Committee, and the Committee on Physicians Health, Dr. Charchaflieh is also a member of the NYSSA Speakers Bureau
for Critical Care.

At the American Society of Anesthesiologists, he serves as member of the Committee on Critical Care and Trauma Medicine, the Committee on Respiratory Care, and the Committee on Practice Parameters.

As part of his practicum for the MPH program, Dr. Charchaflieh organized a series of nine
lectures, presented in both English and Arabic, at the Arab-American Family Support Center in Brooklyn, NY. The lectures, presented by the Arab-American faculty members at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, addressed public health issues that are of interest to Arab-Americans.

Rami Quiban
Rami Qubain

Born and raised in Amman, Jordan, Rami Qubain currently serves as International Programs and Strategic Initiative Officer and the advisor for the Seeds at Manhattanville program at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY.

Demonstrating leadership at a young age, Rami joined Seeds of Peace in 1996 at the age of fifteen. By 1997 he was one of the most active members of the organization in Jordan and led the local Seeds of Peace office until 1999. During that time, he organized meetings between members of the organization and government officials, prepared presentations for potential donors and supporters, and structured regional and international seminars for Seeds of Peace members in the region. Rami also served as a member of The Middle East Youth Summit held in Switzerland in 1998, and a counselor at the Beyond Borders program held in Maine in 2004.

At the age of 18, Rami moved to the United States to pursue an education. He attended Manhattanville College with a full, 4-year leadership scholarship and received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Management with a minor in Music. There, he became active on campus. He was a member of the swimming team, a leader of the Arab community, and the President of the Seeds of Peace club.

Rami continued to pursue his interests off-campus as well, attending conferences and giving presentations in local schools and colleges. Rami was a member of the fundraising committee at the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee – New York Chapter. Upon completing his degree, Rami started to work At Manhattanville College to become the Annual Fund Director at the Institutional Advancement Office. At the same time, Rami pursued a Master’s degree in Leadership and Strategic Management.

 

Amal
Amal Abdallah

Amal Abdallah, an active member of the Islamic Educational Center of North Hudson in Union City, has served as advisor to the Young American Muslim (YAM) since its inception earlier this year. Ms. Abdallah, born in Jordan and of Palestinian ancestry, was raised in a conservative Muslim household in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. After college and a career in banking, she married and is now a mother of three. In addition to volunteering for Islamic Relief, she also devotes her time to the YAMs as well as to her latest project, Youth for Charity (YFC). YFC, in collaboration with a local homeless shelter, brings together both Muslim and Jewish teenaged girls for humanitarian work. Ms. Abdallah lives in Lyndhurst.

 

   

Wihbi Kossim
Wihbi Kossim

Born and raised in Nazareth, Mr. Kossim spent most of his life working in international trade.

His ambition and determination enabled him to move to the United States to pursue his higher education. He attended Manhattanville College with the International Leadership Scholarship and the Manhattanville President Scholarship and received Bachelor's Degrees in Marketing and Management with a minor in Communication.

As a banker, currently Mr. Kossim is pursuing his MBA in management and finance.
