Program Requirements and Costs

United States citizens and permanent residents currently enrolled at an accredited college or university are eligible to participate in the 20010 United States-Syria Grassroots Diplomacy Program. Students from across all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply.

While there is no formal Arabic language prerequisite, it is highly recommended that students have at least one year of formal training in Modern Standard Arabic.

The cost for the 2010 United States-Syria Civic Diplomacy Program is $3,400, which includes international travel to and from New York, all domestic transportation in Syria, three daily meals, accommodation expenses, an insurance package, and entertainment. Students will be responsible for personal spending expenses.

Payment plans are available and can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Successful applicants will be required to attend a pre-departure orientation in New York.
